How I can help

Medication and willpower aren't the whole story. Lasting weight loss comes from knowing what to eat, how much, and how to make it work on any busy day.

GLP-1 medication support

For people taking or starting Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro, Zepbound, or similar medications.

  • Ease nausea, constipation, and other side effects with meal timing and food choices
  • Protect muscle with enough protein and strength-building habits
  • Get the vitamins and minerals you need when your appetite is small
  • Plan for maintenance if your dose changes or you stop the medication

Weight management

For people losing weight with or without medication.

  • A realistic eating plan built around the foods you like
  • Simple, high-protein meals and recipes for real schedules
  • Strategies for cravings, eating out, and plateaus
  • Ongoing check-ins to adjust as your body and goals change

Also related to weight: prediabetes, type 2 diabetes, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, fatty liver disease, PCOS, and sleep apnea. If one of these applies to you, it may also help with insurance coverage.

Lisa Marshall, registered dietitian

Hi, I'm Lisa

I'm Lisa Marshall, a registered dietitian nutritionist in Washington. I help adults lose weight and keep it off with food they actually enjoy eating.

If you're taking a GLP-1 medication, I'll help you make the most of it. Together we'll make sure you're eating enough protein to protect your muscle, managing side effects, and building habits that hold up for the long run, with or without the medication.

My advice is built for real life, including shift work, early mornings, late nights, and weeks that don't go to plan. Our sessions stay practical. You'll leave with meals you can make this week, not a list of rules.

When I'm not working, you'll find me in my vegetable garden, out biking or hiking, cooking and baking, or spending time with my husband and our two dogs.

Common questions

Who do you work with?

I work with adults who want to lose weight or maintain a healthy weight, including people taking GLP-1 medications. I also help with conditions that often go along with weight, such as prediabetes, type 2 diabetes, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, fatty liver disease, PCOS, and sleep apnea. If you need care outside my focus, I'll help you find the right specialist.

Will my insurance cover this?

I'm completing the credentialing process with major Washington health plans and will list them here once I'm in network. Many plans cover medical nutrition therapy, which is nutrition care from a registered dietitian for a health condition. Coverage is often strongest when you have a diagnosis such as obesity, prediabetes, diabetes, high cholesterol, or high blood pressure, and some plans cover visits with no copay.

Every plan is different, including how many visits it covers. Until I'm in network with your plan, you can pay directly and submit a superbill for possible out-of-network reimbursement. Self-pay rates are on my Fees & insurance page.

Do I need a referral from my doctor?

Usually not, but some plans require one. If yours does, I'll let you know and can help coordinate with your provider.

Do I have to be on a GLP-1 medication?

No. I work with people on medication, people considering it, people coming off it, and people who aren't using it at all.

Can you prescribe GLP-1 medications?

No. Dietitians don't prescribe medication. I work alongside your doctor or prescriber, focusing on the nutrition side of your care.

Do you see patients in person?

Yes, in-person appointments are available by request. You can also meet by secure video from home.

How many visits will I need?

Most people start with an initial assessment and follow-ups every few weeks. We'll decide together based on your goals and what your plan covers.
